Partition Sizing Guidelines For Interset 5.x

The information presented below is intended to be a rough guideline of what we require for storage purposes. Note that actual data stored (especially in what we've titled /data) may vary considerably either up or down depending on data volumes and use case.

Ambari Nodes:

/usr/hdp - minimum 30GB

/var/log - minimum 30GB

/data - minimum 50GB

/tmp - minimum 16GB

/ - minimum 10GB

The remainder can be allocated to / as desired.

 

Master Nodes:

/opt/interset - minimum 30GB

/usr/hdp - minimum 30GB

/var/log - minimum 30GB

/data - minimum 200GB

/tmp - minimum 16GB

/ - minimum 10GB

The remainder can be allocated to / as desired.

 

Compute Nodes:

/opt/interset - minimum 30GB

/usr/hdp - minimum 30GB

/var/log - minimum 30GB

/data - minimum 1.5TB

/tmp - minimum 32GB

/ - minimum 10GB

The remainder can be allocated to / as desired.

 

Search Nodes:

/opt/interset - minimum 30GB

/usr/hdp - minimum 30GB

/var/log - minimum 30GB

/data - minimum 750GB

/tmp - minimum 32GB

/ - minimum 10GB

The remainder can be allocated to / as desired.

 

Stream Nodes:

/opt/interset - minimum 30GB

/usr/hdp - minimum 30GB

/var/log - minimum 30GB

/data - minimum 750GB

/tmp - minimum 32GB

/ - minimum 10GB

The remainder can be allocated to / as desired.

 

Reporting Nodes:

/opt/interset - minimum 30GB

/usr/hdp - minimum 30GB

/var/log - minimum 30GB

/data - minimum 200GB

/tmp - minimum 32GB

/ - minimum 10GB

The remainder can be allocated to / as desired.

 

Alternatively, all available space can be allocated to the / partition which will contain all directories noted above.
