Adding Elasticsearch Plugins (head/HQ) In An Offline Installation

When following the documentation for an installation of Interset 4.1, you will note that it is designed for a system that does not have internet access. With this in mind, if you want to install any plugins for management or testing purposes for Elasticsearch you will need to host these "locally". Our recommended approach is to host these files on the same offline repo that you will be accessing for the Interset installation.

I. On local repo mirror:

Create web directory and download plugins:

Example:
mkdir -p /var/www/html/elasticsearch-plugins

wget https://github.com/royrusso/elasticsearch-HQ/archive/master.tar.gz
wget https://github.com/mobz/elasticsearch-head/archive/1.x.tar.gz

II. On Client Node:

1) Install Elasticsearch "HQ" plugin:

cd /tmp; wget http://<local_repo>/elasticsearch-plugins/HQ/master.tar.gz

mv master.tar.gz /usr/share/elasticsearch/plugins/
cd /usr/share/elasticsearch/plugins/; tar xvzf master.tar.gz

rm -rf HQ
mv elasticsearch-HQ-master HQ

2) Install Elasticsearch "head" plugin:

cd /tmp; wget http://<local_repo>/elasticsearch-plugins/head/1.x.tar.gz

mv 1.x.tar.gz /usr/share/elasticsearch/plugins/
cd /usr/share/elasticsearch/plugins/; tar xvzf 1.x.tar.gz

rm -rf head
mv elasticsearch-head-1.x head

3) Remove archives from directory:

cd /usr/share/elasticsearch/plugins/; rm -f master.tar.gz 1.x.tar.gz
