How to get your Analytics software version:

Both the Analytics software and the Reporting software have a unique build number in their installation bundle name, here is how to understand it:

[analytics-2.1.1.523-bin.tar.gz]

Where:

[analytics] is the software type (i.e.  [analytics] means Analytics)

[2.1.1] is the version of the On-Premise software

[523] is the unique build number

[bin] indicates it is a binary artifact

[.tar.gz] indicates it is a tar/GZip archive

 

How to get your Reporting software version:

Both the Analytics software and the Reporting software have a unique build number in their installation bundle name, here is how to understand it:

investigator-2.1.1.957-deploy.tar.gz]

Where:

[investigator] is the software type (i.e.  [investigator] means Reporting)

[2.1.1] is the version of the On-Premise software

[957] is the unique build number

[deploy] indicates it is a deployment bundle artifact

[.tar.gz] indicates it is a tar/GZip archive

 

For the Reporting software there is another way to get this information, visiting the following URL with expose the software version currently running on the Reporting Server only:

http://$REPORTING_SERVER/api/info/build

Where:  

[$REPORTING_SERVER] is the hostname (or I.P. address) of the Reporting Server

In the webpage presented you are looking for 2 fields called:

  • Version
  • X-Git-Commits-Count

Example:

  • "Version":"2.1.1"
  • "X-Git-Commits-Count":"957"

The combination of these 2 fields make up the unique version of the software:  2.1.1.957
