YARN Application Timeline Server May Crash

This is due to a known defect in YARN (https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/YARN-5368). The recommended workaround is to schedule a restart of YARN on a weekly basis via cron.

For example, these lines could be added to the cron tab of any user to perform this via Ambari's API every Saturday at 11:30/45PM:

# STOP YARN
30 23 * * 6 curl -u admin:<PASSWORD> -i -H 'X-Requested-By: ambari' -X PUT -d '{"RequestInfo": {"context" :"Stop YARN via REST"}, "Body": {"ServiceInfo": {"state": "INSTALLED"}}}' http://<AMBARI_SERVER>:8080/api/v1/clusters/interset/services/YARN

# START YARN
45 23 * * 6
curl -u admin:<PASSWORD> -i -H 'X-Requested-By: ambari' -X PUT -d '{"RequestInfo": {"context" :"Start YARN via REST"}, "Body": {"ServiceInfo": {"state": "STARTED"}}}' http://<AMBARI_SERVER>:8080/api/v1/clusters/interset/services/YARN
